Yes, here it is, the last week of summer vacation. Where, oh where has this summer gone? I do believe that this has been one of the busiest eight weeks of my…let’s say life (besides the weeks following the twins’ arrival this past spring). There is excitement, but also sadness because summer vacation has slipped by once again. No more leisurely drinking coffee on the back porch or sleeping past seven.
Mentally, I have been preparing for this. Hours have been spent trying to figure out how to create this blog so that I can have “just one more” avenue for parents and students to know what is going on in Room 207 and to contact me. So, I guess I will add the apps for Twitter (oops, haven’t set that up yet), FB, and Pinterest. Have I left out any? Oh, so much to do with so little time.
Not only have I spent hours upon hours creating this blog, but so many hours have been spent reading colleagues’ blogs and websites, scanning for new ideas, techniques, SB activities, etc…..trying to decide how to incorporate new technological ideas into the curriculum. I had a website on Teacher Web which I loved, but is defunct, I believe. So I am trying out blogging. We’ll see how it goes. Oh, our new system policy of “BYOD” is a tad challenging for me, so I am always open for new ideas on 7th graders using their phones appropriately in the classroom. Do you have any suggestions? Do tell, please.
It is the last Monday of my summer vacation. There is a house to clean, menus to plan, groceries to buy, weeds to pull out of the flower garden, bell peppers from the garden to put up, clothes to wash, etc…etc…etc…. but I am going to sip this last cup of coffee while enjoying the glider on my porch. There are just a few more days of summer left for me to enjoy.
